About Lauren

"Your assumptions are your windows on the world.  Scrub them off every once in awhile, or the light won't come in."  -Alan Alda

Executive Coaching

With both individual and teams, I support people in unlearning the self-imposed limits of the past, in defining their desired impact, and in taking bold action to achieve their ideals.  My particular expertise is uncovering the assumptions, the habits of thought, that keep people engaged in fruitless pursuits.

I engage with each of my clients, about their commitments, their relationships, their opportunities, their actions, their results—both in their role as organizational leader and in their broader personal lives.  My commitment is that my clients have lives and careers that they enjoy.

I am a Master Certified Coach, a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, and I teach professional coaching workshops all over the world.  I have deep experience, with a wide variety of organizations, in coaching people through transformational change.

Structure & Approach

The Co-Active approach, which I both use and teach, is based on the two of us designing an alliance, an equal partnership, to forward your agenda. Your whole life is welcome in our conversations where we’ll focus on themes of fulfillment, choice, and resilience.

Another important aspect of Co-Active coaching is that your satisfaction and self-assessments are where we begin; external feedback, while important, is secondary.  I am a certified consultant of The Leadership Circle Profile and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator if those interest you.  If you'd like to make use of any personality profiles or 360 information you already have, those are entirely welcome.  I also bring a number of other tools, exercises, and activities that we will use in the course of our coaching work together; they are designed to spur self-reflection, engagement, and some fun!

The typical structure of the coaching relationship is for a period of six months, four telephone calls per month of sixty minutes apiece.  (We can also include some face-to-face meetings if appropriate.)  The program is designed this way to provide both momentum, through the frequency of calls, and the length of time needed for insights, experiments, learning and change to occur.
